Mysql with Mysqli extension unavailable during installation

I am using mysql-5.1.51-win32.msi mysql installer, however upon installation on the second step Mysql with Mysqli Extension is Unavailable on the requirements under supported database during php installation... What is the problem... Does my mysql version is compatible to phpBB3 system? Any help will greatly appreciated!

i think you can use the type of mysql version, according to this page,

it's not in the list, but on this page you can clearly see in the picture there that that is what they are using!

so if you can't see it on your installation, there might be something else wrong i guess!
