ModphpBB3 Community Forum

Hi guys,

complete newbie to this forum so not sure if I've posted to the right board but hey ho.

We are combining a number of forums from different forum packages into one and i was wondering if it is possible to import members automatically rather than ask them to sign up to the new forum ?

Words of wisdom from wiser heads would be most welcome.

When you say combining forums, do you mean from other forum scripts or are all phpBB?

No they are not all on phpBB - though the final forum would be.

It would be a little hard, since all the members in different forums will be given different user id's you will have to go through the databases and make sure some of the id are not the same, specially since they are not the same forum scripts. I think it will just be easier and faster to just sign up again!

well i have the same problem but im moving members from my old forum to my modded forum, but they're both phpbb. Any way i can do this?

well, thats a mod in development without a link to download, so its only useful when the download link is given. But, apart from that, that mod sound like just the thing i would need

There is way i found you can import members only, You need go maintenance in the admin control panel and do a backup but only select users download the file and upload it to the modded board to the store folder, then go to admin control panel, maintenance and then restore forum and select the user backup this will then upload all your users and there passwords,

It dosent work for posts unfortunely due to the mods but at least users wont need to re-regester
