Board on subdomain

Post by MadFly »

If i install a board in a subdomain, what will the cookie domain be?

Would it be .subdomain.maindomain.com ?

The domain name this board runs from (for example: http://www.example.com). Would that be then, http://subdomain.maindomain.com ?

I do not think that will work, because that is not a subdomain, that will still be under your main domain.

Any subdomain you create will be in the place of the www of your url for example http://subdomain.maindomain.com

So if you install a forum on a subdomain the cookie domain will be .subdomain.maindomain.com.

I installed mine on a subdomain and made the edits and it worked.

Will let you know if i install it again on subdomain. I just tested the subdomain thing, so i deleted it again

that's the way it worked for me, i guess it depends on the host, cause i had a website layerba.mywebsite.com
then i had a subdomain called forum. And i could go into it either forum.layerba.mywebsite.com or layerba.mywewbsite.com/forum!
