Portal or Blank Page MOD

I'm using portal xl and am having issue's getting it upgraded properly, so i'm looking at trying something different. It seems that there aren't a lot of portals out there, or maybe i'm just missing something. I used the blank page mod with smartors ez portal for phpbb v2, worked quite well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
